A wide downward-sloping brim gives this bucket hat its shape. We cut the crown from lightweight cotton-blend fabric that stays breathable during warm-weather outings. A soft drawcord through the crown lets you adjust the fit as needed, while under-chin ties keep the hat in place.

Wide floppy brim

The wide, unlined brim circles the entire crown to shade the brow, ears, and neck. It is soft enough to fold flat into a pocket or bag without creasing permanently.

Crown adjustment cord

An external drawcord threads around the base of the crown. You can cinch it down for small heads and loosen it as the baby grows, keeping the fit snug without rigid hardware.

Soft chin ties

We sew two flat fabric ties directly to the interior seams. They knot gently under the chin to keep wind from lifting the hat during stroller walks or park visits.

Washing and care

Rinse or machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Reshape the brim by hand and lay the hat flat on a towel to dry so the cotton holds its structure.
