How we knit and sew each piece

We sort our 153 pieces by three questions. You tell the picker what the weather is doing, who the piece is for, and what the wearer will be doing in it. It returns the matching pieces.

Eight sections in the catalogue

We divide the work into team and cushioned socks, swimsuits, knit hats, clothing, dress socks, scarves, fleece thermals, and tights.

Pieces chosen most often

These are the team socks, swim shorts, and knit beanies wearers order most through the storefront.

How our pieces are built

Look at the stitch structure, the join at the heel, and the way the band is closed before you choose a pair or a layer.

1

The top cuff

A wide band holds the sock up against the leg so the yarn does not roll or cut into the calf.

2

The knit rib

Vertical ribs give the sock horizontal stretch so the piece pulls on easily and returns to shape around the leg.

3

The heel turn

A deep heel cup places extra knit fabric where the foot pivots inside a boot or a court shoe.

4

The flat toe seam

A flat seam across the toes keeps bulk out of the front of the shoe when you walk.

Built for the day ahead

We organize our pieces by what is happening outside rather than by a fashion calendar. Rain falls on a Tuesday in spring just like it does in late autumn. Starting with the weather, the person, and the activity gets you to the right ribbed crew, fleece layer, or sun hat without sorting through empty seasonal names.

How to wash and dry these pieces

Worth doing

  • Wash in cold water with similar fabrics to keep yarn from pulling.
  • Turn striped and jacquard socks inside out before putting them in the wash.
  • Fasten every clasp, underwire hook, and adjustable strap before laundering.
  • Lay wet knit beanies and sweaters flat so the knit keeps its shape.

Never do this

  • Do not run hot dryers on ribbed cuffs or pieces with elastic.
  • Do not use bleach on polyester swimsuits, lace trims, or merino knits.
  • Do not wring out rash guards or swim tops after a cold rinse.
  • Do not hang heavy knits on wire hangers where the shoulders pull.

Notes from wearers

The knee high cuffs stayed up on the field through both halves without sliding down my shin once.

Marcus R.

I washed the cable knit beanie on cold and laid it out flat. The brim kept its exact shape without stretching.

Elena B.

The toe seam on the dress socks sits flat against the shoe box. No bunching around my toes during long shifts.
